FingerSpoon enters the BOXING game with a great card. (Press Conference on 9/13/2006)

By Mike Cassell

The fighting city of Philadelphia has developed a reputation throughout the boxing world, as being the place where great fighters are born. Tim Witherspoon has searched for the right talent, and believes, as does their matchmaker, Don Elbaum that this could be the best Philadelphia card in 20 years!!!!!

30 year old Mike Fingerman, a highly successful local businessman has teamed up with 2 time Heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon; “to bring credibility” back to the sport of boxing, in words of Fingerman himself.

“Terrible” Tim Witherspoon, known as one of the "Lost Generation of Heavyweights" of the 1980's, feels he understands what is wrong with the business of boxing, and wants to make a real difference. He vow’s that fighters who come with him, will have a real shot at a career, and will be treated as he wished he had been treated, during his long career, filled with legal battles, and black balling.

Legendary matchmaker Don Elbaum said, “This is best “young talent” on card that I have seen in 20 years, and I have been doing this a very long time”.

With the backdrop of this conference being the very private “pyramid club”, this company is showing class from the get go.

The main event will feature the cousin of Tim Witherspoon, Chazz Witherspoon (13-0, 7 KO's). A former National honor society student, with a 3.8 GPA, as well as a former Olympian and golden gloves champion, Chazz is 100% class, and one hell of a good fighter. He was humbled by the honor to headline his cousin’s first promotion. This kid deserves everything he is going to get. With his father, who is also he is best friend, standing close by, Chazz said this “It is an honor to be apart of this great card, with all these great young Philadelphia Fighters, especially since this is Tim’s first event. It makes it even more special, Thank you for letting be apart of it” Chazz fought on Showtime a few months ago, and has already developed a name for himself nationally.

Light Heavyweight's, Max Alexander (12-0-1, 2 KO's) of Camden, New Jersey is another big secret. This kid fights with a big smile, all the time. When I asked this undefeated prospect why he is always smiling in the ring, he answered “When I see an opponent’s weakness, I attack. It just makes me happy. I can’t help it, it is something I just do.” Also on the card is big ticket seller, Chucky Cavallo (10-0, 3 KO's) of Trenton, New Jersey. Chucky is a tough kid, with only 2 armature fights, but do not let that fool you. This kid has a very big punch. He fought on ESPN2 last month, and totally destroyed his opponent Mike Eatmon.

Simon "One Punch" Carr (4-0, 3 KO's) of Philadelphia, confidently gave notice at the podium, that “if Bernard Hopkins was the King of Philadelphia boxing, then I am the uncrowned prince”. Simon who was incarcerated for nearly a decade, has devastating punching power, and is worth the price of admission alone.

Another Cruiserweight that will appear will be Adam Harris (7-0, 6 KO's). Harris, from Worcester, Massachusetts is in Philly for good, as is signed with Fingerspoon. He is related to another great champion, Jose Antonio Rivera.
